We believe all students deserve:
We believe that all students deserve respect and to learn in a safe, comfortable environment free from bullying. We believe that all students deserve edification at a rigorous level with high expectations presently and beyond high school graduation. We believe all students deserve to have their voices heard and an opportunity to pursue their interests. We believe all students deserve to have access to a variety of resources and technology that will support their development of the skills required for professional, personal, and social success. We believe all students deserve extra help and support needed to experience high levels of growth, regardless of labels and challenges. We believe every child deserves to have their differences celebrated, strengths identified and built upon, and to be supported both emotionally and academically in order to develop a positive self-image, personal discipline, and an enthusiastic outlook toward learning.
All adults in our community are living by these core convictions daily and as a result, show the following attitudes and actions:
All teachers, parents, and community members place a high value on education. They work collaboratively to provide a positive learning environment for all children. Organized and prepared teachers provide a curriculum that is challenging, accompanied by specialized help for children who need support to experience success. Teachers use a variety of instructional techniques and assessment methods to address different learning styles. Teachers provide timely feedback on completed work so that students and parents are aware of expectations and progress. Teachers have a positive attitude toward teaching and learning and demonstrate compassion toward all learners. Teachers feel supported and valued. Parents are actively involved with their child’s education. They volunteer at school, and they have daily discussions with their child about the learning that occurred during the school day. Parents communicate openly with the teachers in order to assure the success of their children. Community members are very visible within the school. They volunteer their time to tutor students who need extra help and support. Community members provide extracurricular activities for the children so that each may expand their interests. Companies provide opportunities for their employees to mentor students. Businesses collaborate with teachers to provide real-world experiences and authentic applications of learning for our students.
In this environment where all adults are living by their core convictions, all students:
